Steele Asks RNC Staff to Resign

By Matt Lewis
Feb 6th 2009 9:17AM

Fox News is reporting that Michael Steele has requested the resignations of the ENTIRE RNC STAFF (about 100 people). He wants to rebuild from scratch.

The story was based on a blog post written last night by Politico's Ben Smith.

It is still unclear whether or not staffers will be allowed to re-interview for their positions (my guess) -- or if this is, indeed, a real purge.

If there was ever a doubt his election represented a revolutionary shift in direction, this move would certainly put an end to that debate.

The reformers won, and -- unlike Obama who seems to have used "change" as merely an slogan -- Steele (so far) appears to be "governing" (inasmuch as an RNC chairman can "govern") -- as a true change-agent.

By the same token, one hopes Steele will not throw the baby out with the bath water. Clearly there are some good people working at the RNC -- and losing institutional knowledge is painful. My guess is some staffers may retain their positions.

Of particular interest to bloggers will be the fate of the RNC's tech-guru Cyrus Krohn. Several conservative blogs, including RedState, have urged Steele to retain him.

Update: The Hill has more.

No no no... this Steele guy should keep exactly the same people and keep doing exactly the same things, keep all the neocons and keep all the Bush buttlickers and every single member of their current "brain- trust". Seriously.

Think of it as the political equivalent of a "Brompton's cocktail". Something to give a terminal cancer patient a long overdue recipe for a peaceful and merciful death. Because that's what the GOP needs to do at this point. Die. Quickly. Before they can do any more horrifying damage to the rest of us in their miserable and wretched death throes. Just die already. Die, die, die!

Clearly there are some good people working at the RNC --

I doubt it ... if they existed their input wasn't utilized. The parties have acted out their parts perfectly to destroy the country and any confidence that intelligent people could have had in the 2 party system.

If a thousand men were not to pay their tax bills this year, that would not be a violent and bloody measure, as it would be to pay them, and enable the State to commit violence and shed innocent blood.

Only if they're pro-homo/pro-aborts: Steele: GOP should reach out to gay, pro-choice voters

Will the other wing (RAT) of the National Globalist Party be imploded (as jorge/mcKein imploded the GOP wing) before or after the NAU is formally established and meshed with the EU ?

Keep the non controversial staffers and fire Rush Limbaugh.

Tap an old time conservo like direct mail titan Richard Viguerie as the ideological spirit guide for the party and apologize profusely for the criminal misdirection of the GOP when steered by Israel-first Jews instead of American Christians, neocons instead of paleos, big govt-treasury mining imperialists instead of Ron Paul.

If he did that then that doesn't particularly inspire my confidence, and I'm not real crazy about a devout Christian in leadership unless he/she supports the principle of separation.

Others may not trust a candidate who compromised on any candidate (like Giuliani, Trent Lott, etc.,) and that would also include me, which is why I can't be a Republican true believer.

But, since there's no chance of finding anyone who is a paleocon who hasn't compromised (including Lew Rockwell) if I as an outsider were to make recommendations to them I'd say, "Go and sin no more, and pick someone like Viguerie who has these things to his credit:"

When Viguerie spoke at a conference of Libertarian Party state chairs in March 2007 [1], he stated the following about the 2006 United States general elections: "Whenever conservatives are unhappy, bad things happen for the Republican Party."

In 2007, Viguerie co-founded the American Freedom Agenda, described as "a coalition established to restore checks and balances and civil liberties protections under assault by the executive branch". [2]

On January 15, 2008, Christian Newswire reported that Viguerie had announced the launch of http://www.UltimateRonPaul.com, stating that "Ron Paul is truly a principled conservative". [3]

But he is one of THEM! You can not put a RINO into a leadership position and hope they will swing it back conservative.
