That's not true at all. It's on of my favorite Jimmy Stewart movies and I watch it several times a year, usually on AMC or TCM.

I meant regular broadcast TV. Cable is a different story. I've always suspected media owners don't want people to see this great film.

Oh. Do people still watch those channels? The only time I turn to them is if there's a tornado watch in the Springfield area.

i love this movie, but it's a real tearjerker.
I remember going to see that movie when I was a kid. I went to a friend's birthday party and we all went to the Saturday Matinee at the local theater. Even as a kid I was a civil war buff and really enjoyed it. I wanted to see it again and it took decades until AMC showed it. It was just on a few weeks ago.

About 20 years ago I saw the 1965 James Stewart movie "Shenandoah." It has never been on TV again, and that is no coincidence.
