Or Critter's hedge against the depression... 1st full week in business, no advertising, no grand opening, no nothing, cept 52 tires sold, average sale $40 a tire, average cost per tire, $8. Yes sir, I picked the right place at the right time. There is gold in that there used rubber. :) I expect that this shop will do 150 tires a week by summer. If you're looking for a good biz for the coming depression, this is it. It's hard, dirty work, but it pays good.

52 tires the first week, 64 the second, on pace to do 75 the third week, and a 200 tire wholesale order going out Tuesday. Struck paydirt. :)
There aren't many businesses that can boast being able to pay all of the bills (rent, payroll, utilities etc) right from opening day, and actually turn a few thousand dollars profit in the 2nd month. Well this is one of the few. The secret to success: Find an area with about a million people within a 30 or 40 mile radius, find a road with steady, all day, local traffic, and find a building on that road that doesn't get lost in a muddle of other commercial properties. Then be willing to work hard and get dirty. You'll do well in good times and great in bad times.
