Title: With One Word, Bernanke Reveals Who Actually Runs The Country

Yesterday, in his appearance before Congress, Bernanke revealed with a single word who really runs the United States:

Senator Sanders: "Will you tell the American people to whom you lent $2.2 trillion of their dollars?"

Bernanke: "No"
No?

Indeed, Bernanke and Treasury refuse to provide this information even confidentially and off-the-record to Congress. And the official overseer of the TARP bailout program can't even get the information of where all the bailout money is going. See also this.

With his single word "no", Bernanke revealed that Congress is impotent and out of the loop. In other words, Congress doesn't really run the country in the core area of business, finance and the economy. The financial giants and their servants at the Fed and Treasury do.

Indeed, Bernanke's testimony is related to - and as important as - the fact that the warmongers gave themselves dictatorial powers.

The warmongers and the financial elite run the country. The people and their elected representatives do not, except to the extent that those representatives play ball with the real powers-that-be behind the scenes.

This has actually been going on for some time, as the following quotes show.

"The real rulers in Washington are invisible, and exercise power from behind the scenes."
- Supreme Court Justice Felix Frankfurter, 1952

"Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men's views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the Field of commerce and manufacture, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it."
- Woodrow Wilson, The New Freedom (1913)

"Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to befoul the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of the day."
- Theodore Roosevelt

"A power has risen up in the government greater than the people themselves, consisting of many and various powerful interests, combined in one mass, and held together by the cohesive power of the vast surplus in banks."
- John C. Calhoun, Vice President of the United States

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies...The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the Government, to whom it properly belongs."
- Thomas Jefferson

"If the people only understood the rank injustice of our Money and Banking system, there would be a revolution before morning."
- Andrew Jackson

"There is an evil which ought to be guarded against in the indefinite accumulation of property from the capacity of holding it in perpetuity by…corporations. The power of all corporations ought to be limited in this respect. The growing wealth acquired by them never fails to be a source of abuses."
- James Madison

"In this point of the case the question is distinctly presented whether the people of the United States are to govern through representatives chosen by their unbiased suffrages or whether the money and power of a great corporation are to be secretly exerted to influence their judgment and control their decisions."
- Andrew Jackson

"I am more than ever convinced of the dangers to which the free and unbiased exercise of political opinion -- the only sure foundation and safeguard of republican government -- would be exposed by any further increase of the already overgrown influence of corporate authorities."
- Martin Van Buren, Eighth President of the United States

"As we view the achievements of aggregated capital, we discover the existence of trusts, combinations, and monopolies, while the citizen is struggling far in the rear or is trampled to death beneath an iron heel. Corporations, which should be the carefully restrained creatures of the law and the servants of the people, are fast becoming the people's masters."
- Grover Cleveland, 22nd and 24th President of the United States

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted."
- Dwight D. Eisenhower

"There exists a shadowy Government with its own Air Force, its own Navy, its own fundraising mechanism, and the ability to pursue its own ideas of national interest, free from all checks and balances, and free from the law itself."
- Senator Daniel K. Inouye

"You don’t have a clue of what’s going on in the government, and neither do the American people. If they did, there would be a revolution in this country.”
-
Texas governor and quintessential political insider John Connally

The dirty secret: AIG owns Ezer Mortgage Insurance of Israel. EMI finances private Israeli mortgages so that Israeli buyers only need a 5% down payment.

While the rest of the world is going down the crapper, Israel will be the only country with an improving economy.

I'm going to pass that one on. Thanks for posting it.

But I bet the last few FRNs I have that the patriots in 1770-1776 or so said the same things about the sheeple of their time. The patriots were a minority, maybe 5% of the population. They still got the job done.

Unfortunately, not all of them lived to see the day. It's the same thing we all face now.

Check out the below info re: Ezer Mortgage Insurance of Israel (EMI). I wonder how much of AIG's bailout handout is going to finance Israeli mortgages in the West Bank and Jerusalem?:

According to report from late last year, most Israeli banks cut back home mortgage financing to at most 80% of the home value, even with insurance from EMI. Some won't lend more than 60%. Insurance from EMI will only get you another 10% or so of financing. Some banks no longer work with EMI at all, and the First International Bank of Israel never did.

Still, their share prices are down by 66% or more.

I have tried to help them but they won't listen.

The sheeple are so d%mn dumb it is pathetic.

I was mindlessly thumbing through am talk radio stations yesterday while on the freeway and I almost drove off the edge when I heard Glenn Beck interview a psychiatrist from Manhattan. Evidently this very successful psychiatrist who has been in practice for over 20 years said the past few months his patients have shocked him with a common expressed worry that he has never heard before from patients in 20 years. Catch this - the psychiatrist said that many of his patients are questioning what America has become - they are telling him that in addition to their personal worries about finances and relationships, they are worried that America today is not what they had come to love, what they had believed America to be since they were little kids; they don't recognize this new America and its scaring them to bits.

Interesting, yes? Admittedly, the people who are able to afford a high end Manhattan psychiatrist are somewhat more thoughtful and introspective than Joe6Pack and SuzySoccerMom, BUT nonetheless these thinking people are like us middle class, not politically interested like us before but now they are beginning to think like us and are wondering where the heck is all this socialism and bailouts and printing $ like monopoly $ and staying in 2 wars with no end etc etc is leading America, a nation that is now totally foreign and incomprehensible to them.
