Famed pastor predicts imminent catastrophe Best-selling author, Teen Challenge founder, sees 'earth-shattering calamity about to happen' © 2009 WorldNetDaily David Wilkerson A respected pastor, best-selling author and founder of a major ministry to teens predicts an imminent "an earth-shattering calamity" centered in New York City that will spread to major urban areas across the country and around the world – part of what he sees as a judgment from God. David Wilkerson, author of "The Cross and the Switchblade," a book about his ministry to troubled New York street kids that was later made into a movie starring Pat Boone, tells readers of his blog this weekend that he is "compelled by the Holy Spirit to send out an urgent message" about his prediction. "An earth-shattering calamity is about to happen," he writes. "It is going to be so frightening, we are all going to tremble – even the godliest among us." Wilkerson's vision is of fires raging through New York City. "It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires – such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago," he explains. "There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting – including Times Square, New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath. In Psalm 11 it is written, "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?" Wilkerson is the founding pastor of Times Square Church in New York City, where he launched a ministry to gang members and drug addicts in 1958. He is a highly regarded mentor to other pastors in evangelical circles and travels the world holding conference for other Christian ministers. In this age of evil, be a champion for God and stand up for the absolute truth of Scripture, not the misconceptions you've been led to believe. "He is destroying the secular foundations." Wilkerson urges everyone to stockpile a 30-day supply of food and other necessities to deal with the catastrophe he foresees. "I do not know when these things will come to pass, but I know it is not far off," Wilkerson concluded in his message. "I have unburdened my soul to you. Do with the message as you choose." A past vice president of the Southern Baptist Convention is hoping believers pay attention to Wilkerson's message. "I have known David Wilkerson for more than 25 years as well as many of his friends and associates," said Pastor Wiley Drake. "He is a godly man and I believe he is listening to God. I encourage each Christian to read and heed what God is saying through our brother."

As far as I'm concerned, all ministers and preachers are crackpots.
First coming from WND it is pretty much a slam dunk that David Wilkerson is just another in long list of preachers who have bought into dispensationalisim....ala John Hagee
Every couple of years or so, one of these clowns gets up and goes "God's wrath is coming soon! He told me so! Buy my book and be prepared!" It's just nonsense for the rubes, to get them to drop their hard- earned dollars on fake books and prayer cloths.

There will be looting—including Times Square, New York City... ” Internet media beginning with Worldnetdaily at 3:15 a.m. EST Sunday March 8, 2009 and then the Matt Drudge "Drudgereport" then reported the prediction under the headline "Famed pastor predicts imminent catastrophe..." Wiki is already updated with this info, one day after. On Saturday March 7, 2009 Mr. Wilkerson published at his online blog what he called "an urgent message...compelled by the Holy Spirit" which includes the following wording:

Robbie, check out the CNP (Council for National Policy). Many Christianized rapture nutters and right wing gatekeepers are members including Tim LaHaye, Larry Pratt, Phyllis Schlafly, Stan Monteith, Joseph Farah and likely many others we know more personally within the freedom movement. Michael Badnarik has spoken at their meetings, and some we on this forum know have attended their meetings but can't be locked down as members in good standing since the group is very secretive. EDIT: I'd add that I believe one of their agendas is to keep people thinking that the CONstitution has some relevance contrary to all evidence.

Then scrape up some donations from your "flock", shear those sheep for all they're worth, and then get on the TeeVee and grow your congregation. Then get a blond sidekick with big hair, big boobs and lots of makeup who goes "praise Jesus" every 30 seconds or so. Once you're raking in enough moolah, buy yourself some satellite bandwidth and go for the big time. Pretend that you're hearing the voice of Jesus every so often as you preach... veer off into tangents as directed by "the spirit of the Lord". And don't get caught diddling anything...

I do, however, despise organized religion and those who lead it, because from what I've seen they're all run by sociopaths and liars. Those who choose to have a spiritual outlook and who are willing to seek the truth, and discuss it with others, and state their beliefs but are willing to listen to others? More power to them. I'll happily debate with them till the cows come home. Those who thump "holy books" and demand that THEIR way is the ONLY way and all others are doomed to eternal horrors inflicted by God? He originally made this prediction years ago after having spent a decade working with the criminal class in New York, All his vision said is that there would be riots in New York and that the looters will burn down the place. I saw him say that on TV and he indicated it would be far worse than Watts. Bur we know the dollar is about to crash. And we know what kind of sewer New York is. So we can expect this might well happen in 2009 or 2010. Gerald Celebts said we will have food riots in 2009. When the dollar crashes all welfare, social security, unemployment insurance and food stamps will go to zero value slong with paychecks. What is sad is how many things, businesses etc. that billionaire Moon and the Unitarian Church have bought their way into and now influence. An example is WND and Farah. Moon was upset by some of the things being published on WND and when he learned of Farah's business/financial difficulties, he provided major $$$ financing/investment and part of the deal was that WND, G2 Bulletin and other Farah controlled businesses would no longer publish negative things about Moon or the Unitarian Church.
