Things are literally going swimmingly here in Melaque in the heart of Costallagre Mexico.

Sue and I have decided this place is a keeper.

Our pleasant hotel room is 250 pesos a night ($17 USD) and has a great terrace with umbarellas and tables and a stove and sink if you want to cook some shrimp.

Weekly the price goes to $14 USD a night, if you get it for a month I guess its free ).

These pixs are from google, I did not bring the cable to connect my camera to a computer.

My tan is coming right along, the food is fabulous, shrimp platter is about $5.5 and the beer company, Sol, is having a promotional especial for $0.66 a bottle in the restaurants!!! Or for a brew on our terrace, $0.44 for a 16 oz can of Sol. Our room is great with two comfortable beds, frige and a flush toilet so it is far more advanced then the Ozarks! The city square: HERE IS OUR HOTEL: Have another few days here than off to Puerto Vallerta for a flight back to the US on Tuesday - ending our three week vacation. Next time we are driving, and staying a month. (6 images)

It's beautiful!

Just don't git shark et!

(I've gotta bad feeling about the ocean ever since The ewe gno watt Movie, and in 1976 a helicopter ride over Panama City Beach showed all the ubiquitous sharks in the water all around the waders as clear as can be from an altitude of about 200 feet.

You can't see em at ground level when you're splashin' and grab assin and generally ringing the dinner bell (fortunately sandbar sharks don't usually worry swimmers and waders) but you can shore see em from the air!

(Statistically, "you would have to swim in the ocean 112 times a day for it to become as dangerous as making a single car journey to the supermarket." Even so, when they bite it touches so many lives that, well, it would just ruin me to learn of any misfortune befalling you and yours. So, please humor me and don't go any deeper than your ankles for the remainder of your vacation, okay? Thanks)

Also, you must allow for the possibility that some bipedal ne'er-do-wells may be eyeballin' you and The Missus and waiting for the opportunity to introduce you to their cuchillos and learned anti social behavior patterns. It may not happen much but when it does the savagery of the 3rd world is too ghastly for words.

Avoid that long walk through the woods where entrance and egress is possible from a blind side other than the highway.

Just think about me and humor my paranoia and concern for youze guyz, okay?

As the world economy heads South it may manifest in heretofore unseen desperation in a few people. And, you just can't tell by looking at them who the desperadoes are.
