EXCLUSIVE: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently told a group of both legal and illegal immigrants and their families that enforcement of existing immigration laws, as currently practiced, is "un-American." The speaker, condemning raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, referred to the immigrants she was addressing as "very, very patriotic." "Who in this country would not want to change a policy of kicking in doors in the middle of the night and sending a parent away from their families?" Pelosi told a mostly Hispanic gathering at St. Anthony's Church in San Francisco. Video: Click here to view the video of Pelosi speaking. "It must be stopped....What value system is that? I think it's un-American. I think it's un-American." Pelosi said she was invited to the church by Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill., as part of his 17-city, cross-country tour called United Families, which he says is intended to put a human face on the immigration debate. "We think that families are the cornerstone of our society and our nation, and an immigration system should preserve those families, not destroy them," Gutierrez told FOX News Capitol Hill Producer Chad Pergram on Tuesday. The congressman is collecting petitions that ask President Obama to "stop the immigration raids and deportations that are tearing our marriages, families and children apart." He is expected to present those petitions when Hispanic members of Congress meet with the President Wednesday. Click here for more video from FOX News. On Saturday night, Pelosi joined Gutierrez before a cheering crowd at St. Anthony's chanting, "Si se puede," or "Yes we can." Referring to work site enforcement actions by ICE agents, Pelosi said, "We have to have a change in policy and practice and again ... I can't say enough, the raids must end. The raids must end. "You are special people. You're here on a Saturday night to take responsibility for our country's future. That makes you very, very patriotic." "I was embarrassed by what she said," said Rick Oltman, with Californians for Population Stabilization, an anti-illegal immigrant group. "Exhorting illegal aliens for taking responsibility for our country's future.... In fact, sitting there in the audience.... I really resented that comment." "I think it was pandering to the crowd but also insulting to American citizens who consider themselves to be patriotic, who obey the rule of law," said Oltman, who shot a video of the rally.

He was a big part. The immigration laws were gutted in 1965 as part of the civil rights wave, but of course even those laws aren't enforced. I remember when I was a kid, every January there used to be loads of public service announcements on TV that all immigrants had to register with the gov't. Remember those clunky animations on TV where the alien would slide his form over the counter at the post office?
What is it that makes illegal aliens so special and why are they "patriotic"? Is it because the vast majority of them ignorantly vote for putas like Pelosi and idiots like Obama?

Lemme get a good night's sleep, and I'll try. I thought that most all here would know what I alluded to in Ms.Pelosi's speech. The short story, as I know it, is that anyone who promotes, advocates, or otherwise enjoins persons to commit a crime is criminally liable for the solicitation of same. I hope that some of the attorneys who are members here will expound on my simple layman's take on this one.

Not an attorney, but I am knowledgeable about the following case laws, statutes, and Constitution: In a March 22, 2005 ruling, in Muehler v Mena, in unanimous decision from a Court known for its 5-4 splits, the United States Supreme Court essentially said that asking about immigration status during a lawful police contact (or, by implication, any lawful contact) was as fundamental a question as asking for name, address and date of birth. Indeed, the Court made clear that no predicate "independent reasonable cause' need exist to inquire into immigration status. It is the Law of the Land. Calling a decision by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals “faulty,” the Supreme Court held that “mere police questioning [regarding one’s immigration status] does not constitute a seizure.” The Court continued its landmark ruling on this issue by stating that “the officers did not need reasonable suspicion to ask Mena for her name, date of birth, or immigration status.”... If there were even a hint that merely asking about immigration status is discriminatory (as claimed by proponents of the proposed Ordinance), then you might expect to have had at least one dissenter in that decision: Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Justice Ginsberg was general counsel of the ACLU from 1973 to 1980 and sat on its National Board of Directors from 1974 to 1980. Justice Ginsberg's joining the entire court in this decision speaks volumes about its judicial wisdom and legal common sense. Congress expressly intended for local law enforcement to act in cases in which officers have reason to believe that an individual is in the country illegally, even though immigration law enforcement is not their primary responsibility. In 1996, Congress passed and President Clinton signed legislation that protects individual officers who act to enforce federal immigration laws, even if their departments have non-cooperation policies. Federal Law--Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii) A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he: assists an illegal alien she/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or encourages that illegal alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions. Section 1324a: Any person who knowingly hires/harbors/transports any illegal alien is guilty of a felony punishable by 10 years jail + $2000 fine per illegal alien + forfeiture of the vehicle or property used to commit the crime. An employer has constructive knowledge that an employee is an illegal unauthorized worker if a reasonable person would infer it from the facts.(10) Constructive knowledge constituting a violation of federal law has been found where Knowledge cannot be inferred solely on the basis of an individual’s accent or foreign appearance. Actual specific knowledge is not required. For example, a newspaper article stating that ballrooms depend on an illegal alien workforce of dance hostesses was held by the courts to be a reasonable ground for suspicion that unlawful conduct had occurred.(12) (10)8 CFR 274a.1(l). (11)8 CFR 274a.1(l)(1). (a)...Any alien who: Section 1644: Notwithstanding any other provision of Federal, State, or local law, no State or local government entity may be prohibited, or in any way restricted, from sending to or receiving from the Immigration and Naturalization Service information regarding the immigration status, lawful or unlawful, of an alien in the United States. (Affirmed City of New York v. United States, No. 97-61820, ___, (2nd Cir. 1997); appealed from US v. Giuliani, (S.D.N.Y. 1996)). Section 1324c: All officers whose duty it is to enforce criminal laws shall have authority to make arrests for a violation of any provision of this section. (Affirmed United States v. Perez-Gonzalez, No. 01-3594, 307 F.3d 443, (6th Cir. 2002). The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment. The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence.

It also separates families when someone is put in prison for things which aren't crimes, such as "willful failure to file" income-tax returns. A "willful failure" to do something presupposes a lawful requirement to do it and knowledge of said requirement. Yet no one--no one--can show you any such requirement as it relates to the "income" tax. Most people don't even have any "income" since the word actually means "profit or gain" and is accrued through the exercise of some type of government-granted "privilege" (such as the manufacture and sale of alcohol, tobacco, and firearms, explosives, etc.). "Occupations of common right" and the money earned through engaging in them are not/is not taxable.
