Years ago as a young child, when tummyaches and viral intestinal illness struck, nothing worked better than paragagorec (OPIUM) to both stop pain And stop the symptoms like diarreah. I never becaume addicted. Now it is virtually illegal and I doubt you could get any MD to prescribe it. Might get addicted you know. LMFAO. I am beating a dead horse but this country needs an overhaul from 1776 onward. All of it is suspect and should be on the table. Liberty is dead. The only argument is the fix. And all sides have good points. But the staus quo WILL result in the death of us...and the nation. We will not survive the new Stalin. I've posted my recommendation list (platform) several times. I hope others can contribute.

I can remember until I was about 20 there was a cough syrup with codeine in it. Robotussin, maybe? It stopped coughs fast. Some of my friends used to try to get high, but said all it did was made them dopey. Personally, I never tried it. A nurse once told me opiates stopped diarrhea, but were not for certain things. Dysentary, perhaps? She said since it couldn't get out, it would eat a hole through your guts.

Actually narcotics are the only things that will stop a cough and opium is excellent for diarreah.. The OTC crap (destromethorthan) is just that: CRAP And waste of money and a BIG income for Big Pharma.
