What I have tried so far hasn't gotten rid of it. Kind of annoying searching and then being redirected somewhere else. Also slowing my compute down.

Anyone know of any free solutions to get rid of this shit? Or better yet tell me who wrote the virus so I can go slit their throat.

Here is an example. Since it is tax season I just thought I would search for H & R block.

I search and H&R blocks page is the first choice.

I click on it and it takes me to turbo tax.

If I right click and copy link address it will take me to H&R blocks page.

Some things like freedom4um take you to freedom4um. It is just some things that get redirected.

You might want to run your computer through Symantec's free scan. Just Google "Symantec."

Do they fix it. Or is it one of them that just tells you what you have and encourages you to buy it?

I'm not saying that is bad as that could narrow down the problem. Just wonder.

That name was bought by TheStreet.com ("TheStreet.com Inc (TS) acquired Corsis Technology Group II LLC (CT), a provider of marketing technology solutions services, for $##.### mil") so someone makes money by getting you to go there. The fact that your browser loads up that site, no matter how that happens, means someone makes a penny. Multiply that by the number of victims and clicks.

What I said before may not be true. It may be a browser plug-in on your computer that is simply ignoring the name of the site you want (that you clicked on) and sending you to some pay-for-clicks site instead.

Oh I am pretty sure that is what it is. I already called AT@T and cursed the fucker on the end of the line out. Not that he could do anything about it but I was pissed.

If you're not afraid to spend a few bucks, I use Spyware Doctor with Anti-Virus. It handles viruses, browser hijacks, adware, and a bunch of other stuff.
