Active Thermitic Material Discovered in Dust from the 9/11 World Trade Center Catastrophe

We have discovered distinctive red/gray chips in all the samples we have studied of the dust produced by the destruction of the World Trade Center. Examination of four of these samples, collected from separate sites, is reported in this paper. These red/gray chips show marked similarities in all four samples. One sample was collected by a Manhattan resident about ten minutes after the collapse of the second WTC Tower, two the next day, and a fourth about a week later. The properties of these chips were analyzed using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (XEDS), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The red material contains grains approximately 100 nm across which are largely iron oxide, while aluminum is contained in tiny plate-like structures. Separation of components using methyl ethyl ketone demonstrated that elemental aluminum is present. The iron oxide and aluminum are intimately mixed in the red material. When ignited in a DSC device the chips exhibit large but narrow exotherms occurring at approximately 430 °C, far below the normal ignition temperature for conventional thermite. Numerous iron-rich spheres are clearly observed in the residue following the ignition of these peculiar red/gray chips. The red portion of these chips is found to be an unreacted thermitic material and highly energetic.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Folks, this is a major story and will be totally ignored by ABCNNBBCBS.

This is a peer-reviewed report in a science journal which confirms the presence of a manufactured material consisting of tiny flakes of aluminum metal coated with iron oxide discovered at four different locations in the wreckage of the World Trade Center.

Aluminum and iron oxide, mixed equally by weight, is the classic recipe for thermite. This material is very fine, increasing its burn speed, and apparently has some additional components (besides the very fine granular size) which lower the ignition temperature.

This report directly contradicts the official government claim that there was no trace of internal explosives in the ruins of the World Trade Center.

Now have your dog look back to the right and you can see that the pile of debris is higher than that building and, in fact, has spilld over onto it.

You don;t tread water very well...

PS: Thermite doesn't cut, it melts and the buildings did not fall at anything near free fall speed...

and the buildings did not fall at anything near free fall speed...

Considering how long it could have taken them to fall in a pancake collapse it was very fast indeed. Neither WTC 1 or 2 fell at near free fall speed in a vacuum. Then again, nothing does unless it is in a vacuum. However air resistance would not have slowed the fall of the buildings down any noticeable amount over such a short distance for such massive buildings. But collisions on each floor, which had to occur if you believe the government's story, would have slowed it down a very noticeable amount.

But WTC7 did collapse at near free fall speed and no plane even hit it. Don't tell me it felt lonely, that is not why it collapsed. Also don't tell me news reporters are psychic and that's why they reported it fell a good 20 minutes before it did. Anyone that can't see WTC7 was a controlled demolition is either blind or dumb. Why bring a perfectly good building down on purpose? Destroy evidence? Yep, that's why it had to come down.

God is always good!

Let's just say that I put more weight on what the chemist has to say than your opinions on the matter.

Note that his investigation began when he witnessed the 47 story building collapse seven hours later with no airplane impact and it did so in 6.5 seconds. There really is not valid explanation as to the collapse of building seven, no matter how you spin it. If the explanation given for seven is false, then the explanations regarding the twin towers deserve more scrutiny as well.

National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Federal Building and Fire Safety Investigation of the World Trade Center Disaster

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions (August 30, 2006)

6. How could the WTC towers collapse in only 11 seconds (WTC 1) and 9 seconds (WTC 2)—speeds that approximate that of a ball dropped from similar height in a vacuum (with no air resistance)?

NIST estimated the elapsed times for the first exterior panels to strike the ground after the collapse initiated in each of the towers to be approximately 11 seconds for WTC 1 and approximately 9 seconds for WTC 2. These elapsed times were based on: (1) precise timing of the initiation of collapse from video evidence, and (2) ground motion (seismic) signals recorded at Palisades, N.Y., that also were precisely time-calibrated for wave transmission times from lower Manhattan (see NCSTAR 1-5A).

As documented in Section 6.14.4 of NIST NCSTAR 1, these collapse times show that:

“… the structure below the level of collapse initiation offered minimal resistance to the falling building mass at and above the impact zone. The potential energy released by the downward movement of the large building mass far exceeded the capacity of the intact structure below to absorb that energy through energy of deformation.

Since the stories below the level of collapse initiation provided little resistance to the tremendous energy released by the falling building mass, the building section above came down essentially in free fall, as seen in videos. As the stories below sequentially failed, the falling mass increased, further increasing the demand on the floors below, which were unable to arrest the moving mass.”

what's important to understand is that a collapse occurring at free fall means that all potential energy is converted to kinetic energy with zero PE available for smashing. a collapse approaching free fall has PE less KE available for smashing (energy available for smashing remains arbitrarily near zero).

dude, there was wicked mucho smashing of stuff, not the fuck-all suggested by the collapses' increasing swiftness (unless maybe it could have been...DEMOLITION!!!).

Certainly not the professional aviation industry, and certainly not the majority of physicists, chemists, and engineers in various disciplines such as civil and materials engineering.

I just love that "overwhelming majority of industry professionals". One of those great generalities the shills love which when pressed always boils down to the same short list:

Dr. Thomas Eagar from MIT who was the authority for the Nova whitewash - whose theory has been totally discredited.

Pop Mechanics and their Strawman Whitewash which used misrepresented photos of WTC 6 and misrepresented them as WTC 7. Edited by that great engineering jeenyus of the HEARST Publishing Company, the former editor of "Entertainment Weekly", and Michael Jerkoff's cousin as the purported author.

A variety of government employees controlled by the people who engineered the 911 PsyOP.

And that's about it. A few other faces and names here and there - generally with government connections such as Controlled Demolition Inc..

And the vast army of "experts" keeps dwindling and being discredited.

What's a poor hard working shill to do other than fall back on non-specific generalities such as "overwhelming majority"?

These groups participated in analyzing the collapse...buck up sime numbers Moonie that the majority of their members dissented from the findings:

The ASCE Coalition Team included professional members of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), and the Structural Engineers Association of New York (SEAoNY).

What did the colleagues of one of your Head Moonbats, Steven Jones, do when they heard the nonsense that he was spiouting? In fact, I challenge you now to buckk up the name of ONE organziation of architects, engineers, fire professionals etc etc etc who as a group have taken issue with NIST.
