Down there music is an important part of the culture and I really loved that. But, the whole time we stayed (and I gigged) Hurricane Juan was looming and the oppressive humidity was just awful, not to mention the generally lower wages of the South, so, we came to this musical wasteland.
And, Lafayette was also destroyed by Katrina, so....
works fine for me - one of this mysteries of the internet.
So few months ago we got grannie - my mother in law- from Lake Charles - to move up here with Sue and I in Colorado Springs, after several of her husbands passed.
It has been a challenge - I am seeing some of the famous Mother/Daughter stuff that I have famously heard about come to fruitition.

I really like south Louisiana, I have some family from Avoyelles Parish which is a bit north of Lafayette. The weather is awful hot and humid, but the people are so nice, very funny and warm-hearted.

I remember when her husband passed away and you and your wife went to Lake Charles, it was a sad time and if I remember right it was a difficult trip.
