OK I went to the 'camp'. I found out that that the LA Times article which has been circulating of late all over the web referring to colored wristbands and autos being siezed is actually over a year old:
'Ontario residents only' at Tent City March 18, 2008 http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-tents18mar18,0,494522,full.story
California Tent City Residents Required to Wear Wristbands April 1, 2009 http://www.prisonplanet.com/california-tent-city-residents-required-to-wear- wristbands.html
Ontario, CA, Tent City Residents Required to Wear Wristbands (<---Note this is not an LA Times headline) David Kelly, Los Angeles Times March 30, 2009 http://www.infowars.com/ontario-ca-tent-city-residents-required-to-wear- wristbands/
No one is wearing wristbands and the place is nearly empty. There are 'no trespassing' signs everywhere. the guard did refer to it as modeled after sherrif joe arpio's prison in AZ though.
I went to the 'tent city' in Ontario CA Sunday 4/4/09 to see if I could get any footage or interviews with residents. I walked the perimeter on the public sidewalk and found one young man in his 20's was in his car going through some paperwork. He said he lived there, and when I asked him about the colored wristbands mentioned in an LA Times article. He said "oh, that was a long time ago, over a year'. He was correct, as the LA Times article recently circulated is from March 18, 2008. Read it here:
'Ontario residents only' at Tent City March 18, 2008 http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-tents18mar18,0,494522,full.story
He was not wearing a wristband. Two other guys didn't want to talk on camera. A woman resident then started cursing and shouting to the security guard that I was taking pictures.
I was then approached by a SECURITAS security guard who was patrolling the property. He said he had been called by a resident who didn't want anyone taking pictures. he said the camp was based after Sheriff Joe Arpaio's camps in the Arizona desert. He spoke of the damage the Democratic party had done to the state. I told him I was a libertarian and he said he's surprised the Republican party didn't support Ron Paul. I told him I was doing some freelance work to submit for a story for INFOWARS. The guard knew of Alex Jones, who he had heard on George Noory's show on Clearchannel's KFI. He said "Alex is pretty sharp on stuff, he knows what's going on". I noted how the camp was nearly empty, and the guard explained they kicked everyone out who had not previously been a resident of Ontario, then concluded "the way the economy's going i wouldnt be surprised if it starts expanding".
there are tents etc but yeah nearly empty. as psusa said all along we should verify everything for ourselves. The infowars article about it was linked from another site, which had the story dated 3-31-09:

Yet the la times piece ran over one year ago. Also note that the LA Times story is written by
'Ontario residents only' at Tent City Irfan Khan / Los Angeles Times
Not 'David Kelly' as is credited in a recent link. wierd.
I beleive it indeed was a legitmiate error, as the article was dated the end of March which was when he started reporting on it. I dont know why it got circulated over a year after it ran though, or why david kelly was listed as the author. just goes to show we need to verify the original sources every time., which is actually what Jones always suggest people do.
