Iraqi journalist Muntadher al-Zaidi, who threw his shoes at President Bush (but missed) in protest of American killings in Iraq, has had his sentence for assault reduced from three years to one. An appeals court considered al-Zaidi's young age, absence of a criminal record and the protest motive. POSTER COMMENT: al-Zaidi should appeal to Obama for a pardon and if the President can swing it he'd be assured of not having a shoe thrown at him on any visit to Iraq.
