Over the course of various administrations, the US Federal Government has committed several infractions of the US Constitution. It has done so most recently by the continuation of giving public money to corporations and private interests, while increasing our national debt to record highs. Fortunately, the founders provisioned for two forms of legal means through which We the People can peacefully mandate limited government: 1. the ballot box - however, black box voting, biased news media, and a corrupted partisan controlled electorate process, has rendered the political election system to be largely untrustworthy. this leaves only one other of two peaceful means by which We the People can remain in control of a Constitutionally limited Federal Government: 2. the First Amendment Accountability Clause: ... and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Unfortunately, this is also known as the "forgotten clause", as barely any Americans are aware of it and even less are aware of its meaning. On Feb. 25, 2008, the Supreme Court of the United States, without comment, again refused to hear the case of We The People vs. United States. Thus, the Court failed its Constitutional duty to declare the meaning of the Accountability Clause of the First Amendment. The Court elected to not be put in the position of having to recognize the unalienable Right of the People to hold the Federal Government accountable to the Constitutions essential principles, enumerated powers, and explicit prohibitions. Instead, the Court has chosen to conspire with the other two political branches in a collective decision to protect, preserve, and enhance the treasonous notion that Constitutional violations are mere issues of current public policy, subject only to the will of the majority -- rule of whim, rather than rule of law. The founding fathers understood that the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches of government might someday fail in their duty to protect the people from tyranny and included the Accountability Clause in the First Amendment. They also knew that unless the Right to Petition included the right to withhold their money from the Federal government UNTIL their grievances were remedied, their grievances might fall on deaf ears and liberty would give way to tyranny and involuntary servitude. Therefore, within an act of the 1774 Continental Congress regarding Petitioning for Redress of Grievances, the founding fathers said: If money is wanted by Rulers who have in any manner oppressed the People, [the People] may retain [their money] until their grievances are redressed, and thus peaceably procure relief, without trusting to despised petitions or disturbing the public tranquility. Simply put, the founders' advice in dealing with an oppressive unlimited government is: NO REDRESS, NO TAXES! Over the past few years, We the People have submitted several petitions for redress of grievances regarding associated Constitutional infractions. Visit GiveMeLiberty.org to read and sign these petitions. Since all three branches of Federal Government have now refused to comply with the People's unalienable right to remedy of said grievances, We the People are taking a page out of American history in organizing a 2009 Continental Congress. The mission of the 2009 Continental Congress is NOT to alter the Constitution, but to end and reverse violations of the Constitution. The Congress will allow delegates, up to three from each state, to agree upon a peaceful strategy and course of action that will put the power back into the hands of the People, restore our freedoms, preserve our Constitutionally limited Republic and mandate government be held accountable to the rule of law. Constitutionally limited government is paramount to preserving liberty, not just for RED or BLUE Americans, but for ALL Americans. Yet, for quite some time, Federal Government administrations of BOTH major parties have been ignoring their accountability to various fiscal Constitutional limitations and leading America on a course of economic disaster, which knows no partisanship. Ex-US Comptroller General, David Walker, expressed in a panel discussion regarding the movie IOUSA, that if the Federal Government would be cut back to its Constitutional limitations, the Federal budget would be cut by roughly 66%. Doesn't that sound like a good place to begin cutting government waste? Doesn't it seem reasonable to mandate accountability to Constitutional fiscal limitations of Federal Government? Doesn't it make common sense that the government obey the law, just like any American? If the Federal Government wishes to change a provision of the Constitution, there is a legal process by which this must occur. It is paramount that ALL governing authorities take seriously their oaths of office to defend the Constitution from enemies foreign and domestic. We are here today at this Tax Day Tea Party, April 15th 2009, because We the People are FED UP with Federal Government fiscal irresponsibility and blatant disregard for the US Constitution and rule of law. I'm here to inform you that We the People DO have the right to legally and peacefully mandate such government accountability via the First Amendment Accountability Clause. It is up to We the People to educate ourselves and encourage our fellow Americans to do likewise. We the People are still taking nominations for NC delegates to the 2009 Continental Congress. If you would like to nominate a fellow Tarheel to be part of this historic effort, please contact me here today, or afterward at LibertyAsheville.org.
