Whatever happened to the oath that our elected servants pledge to uphold the Constitution and defend America?

CAFTA, the Central American Free Trade Agreement is a thief. Make no mistake. It will steal American jobs. It will woo companies from America. It will do both for greed's sake — to "increase shareholder value and beef up the bottom line." The House of Representatives passed CAFTA around midnight, the start of July 28, 2005. The U.S. Senate did this dirty work in late June.

America's standard of living will be dragged down further to more closely match that of less prosperous neighbors in our hemisphere. How? As more decent-paying American production and manufacturing jobs go south of the border, many of the people who did those jobs will be victimized into low-paying and minimum wage service sector work (read: burger flipper). Middle managers in those manufacturing hierarchies will vie for 35-hour per week, part time jobs that have no healthcare benefits. Thus, CAFTA results in theft of standard of living and healthcare benefits.

But, hey, shareholder value is up! Bottom lines are beefier! That's all that counts, after all.

Thieves in the night win again.

As I watched some of the debating about CAFTA and the ensuing vote, I thought of the following phrases in the Declaration of Independence:

"Places Unusual, Uncomfortable, and Distant" and "Subject Us to a Jurisdiction Foreign to Our Constitution."

When the House of Representatives of the United States further sold out America with its anti-American vote to bless CAFTA, the phrase "places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant" had two meanings; besides our Founding Fathers' formal, written complaint against England's King George III and his political lackeys in "the colonies." First, Washington, DC (District of Corruption) is a "place unusual, uncomfortable and distant" to normal Americans. From there, so-called representatives in Congress almost daily rain down destruction on normal, patriotic Americans. Second, "places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant" are where American jobs will go, and probably a flock of businesses that control a portion of those jobs.

Regarding the phrase "subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our Constitution," by passing CAFTA, the Constitution of the United States of America is again second fiddle to a globalist document. America's best interests must kowtow to whims of the anti-American WTO (the globalist World Trade Organization). If any CAFTA 'trading partners' object at all to our business practices, the aggrieved partner can whine to the transnational WTO who must whip America into compliance — and they're just drooling over any excuses to do so.

Indeed, America is officially subject to a jurisdiction foreign to our Constitution. How anti-Declaration of Independence. Already presidente Jorge W. Busho, gives priority to comrade Mexican presidente Vincente Fox. Doing so "W" demotes defense of America and our national sovereignty to 2nd place, at best. Don't forget the anti-American global-elitist tribunals (foreign to our Constitution) that will arbitrarily decide complaints filed against U.S. businesses by our CAFTA "partners." Maybe 3rd place priority is more accurate.

Also, the puffed-up, self-anointed power elites fib that CAFTA will curtail the tsunami of illegal immigrant Mexicans and OTMs (Other Than Mexicans) flooding into the USA. It's a specious argument. Illegal immigrants will continue to flee to America because our living standards are still higher. Think about it. If you earn 50¢ today, but with CAFTA, tomorrow you'll earn 95¢ . . . yet in America you can earn $5 or more per hour . . . Duhhhh, it's a no brainer. Go to America. That's basic human nature; greed for survival. Powerful global elitists KNOW that We The People are too dumb to see it.

GREED ABOVE ALL

Here is why CAFTA will fail and hurt Americans as much as NAFTA has. For all of the pseudo-brilliant debating by our so-called representatives, the human greed factor was ignored. The modern business owner will choose to hoard money 99.9% of the time, given a choice between hoarding money (the sweat from the backs of others) and being a good corporate citizen (providing jobs in communities where workers live).

If hoarding more money faster means moving jobs to foreign nations, so be it. If it means destroying communities, bankrupting and ultimately breaking families, so be it. Worship the bottom line. Money rules!

The 1970s rock group Pink Floyd aptly summed up this anti-ethic in their satirical song, "Money":

"Money — so they say is the root of all evil today . . .

"Money — get back! I'm alright, Jack, keep your hands off my stack!"

Greed rules economics. Congress bypassed this basest fact about human nature.

For all the 'yielding of the floor to the gentleman or gentlewoman from such & such a state,' the human pure-greed factor was never seriously debated. It's ironic. Politicians are more awash in vile, unlimited greed than all other castes of people. They live greed. They breathe greed. They snack on greed. Correction: They FEAST on greed. They even get fat on greed.

Greed bombards them 24/7 in the form doppelganger lobbyists who haunt Congress's "hallowed" halls to broker influence and power of greedy business barons. Arizona Senator John McCain admitted this behind his toothy, bucky-beaver smile. It was most likely one of Bucky's main reasons for the McCain-Feingold "law" to kill Americans' First Amendment right to Free Speech before elections.

Can't have ordinary citizens telling the truth in public about corrupt candidates who succumbed to greed. I can hear Senator Foghorn Klaxon bellowing the alarm, "There's too much truth tellin' goin' on 'round here!" Too much truth about career politicians is unhealthy for their shrouded dark caste. They're allergic to honesty and the light of truth.

So, global elitist, feckless Republican'ts ran loops of near-meaningless hyperbole about being the good 'nice guy' big brother (or Orwellian "Big Brother") in our hemisphere. George W. Bush presidentially commanded his party mob of feckless drones to chant that mantra. On the usually God-less Demonrat side of the aisle, their magnanimous, rightful concerns were jobs, unions and economic health inside America's borders. I'll get back to Greed shortly.

CHEERING for the BAD GUYS

An odd thing happened as I watched the House of Representatives vote on CAFTA. For an hour, I cheered the people's "progressive" (code word for 'Marxist') party, whose members are commonly called Democrats. Get this: they tried to preserve

America's sovereignty! They voted against CAFTA. Slightly after midnight, by a measly 2 votes, they lost to the CAFTA Thief in the Night.

I was conflicted. I don't like the communist-lite (democrat) party. Nor am I a feckless Republican't. Both are selling out America's national sovereignty — super sale at hyper speed, stoked by fire sale prices, slashed lower as you read this.

But, Democrats were courageous patriots in the House of Representatives. I was flabbergasted. From 11 p.m. to midnight, they voted against CAFTA. They probably did so because CAFTA is perceived as pro big business. It is. If big businesses didn't have enough incentive to flee America, leaving vacuums where there used to be jobs (that loud suction sound you hear as jobs are sucked out of America), well, CAFTA gives tycoons, captains, lieutenants and even sergeants of industry more incentive to eliminate American jobs.

Congresspersons argued about losing jobs (anti-CAFTA) vs. being good hemisphere neighbors (pro-CAFTA). Where does the Constitution of the United States of America say Congress must concern itself with people in other nations — who do NOT vote for and elect U.S. congresspersons, and whom our Congress does NOT represent?

GLOBALIZATION STEPPING STONE

CAFTA is to the western hemisphere what the Common Market was to Europe 20 years ago as global elitists morphed it into the European Union. The concept of the Common Market was peddled to Europeans as a way to promote economic welfare of its member nations. Citizens in each nation worried that they'd lose national sovereignty if they subjugated their country to a government-like entity bigger than their own.

They were right. They should have followed their instincts. After Europe's Common Market came the European Union; a bigger, more powerful economic (read: global governance) entity. Are those nations any better economically? Are their citizens more prosperous than if they'd remained mere nations, instead of a quasi super-nation? Pros and cons are debatable. Whenever you must debate if change was good or bad, it was dubious at best.

However, by herding European nations into an economic bloc that can't even write a God-less constitution without squabbling irreconcilably, globalists have nonetheless taken a bunch of smaller power centers and ganged them into one big, easier-to-control power center. Guess who controls the ON-OFF switch. Global elitists.

The U.S.A. began with NAFTA (the North American Free Trade Agreement) on the heels of Europe's Common Market morphing into the European Union. Again, globalist hucksters peddled it as a way to promote economic welfare. They sing the same tune for CAFTA. Trade inhibiting tariffs and excise taxes will be suspended among CAFTA partners. Products exported by American won't be taxed by CAFTA partners on the receiving end. Vice-versa for their goods here.

It sounds dreamy. Lower taxation means less costs passed onto you and me, the consumers. Right?

Pop quiz . . .

If you answered, "I do" to only the third question, you pass the pop quiz.

The GREED TRI-FECTA

All the greedy power players win with CAFTA.

Congress sees all this. It's not stupid. It's full of cunning schemers; most dishonest, except for a handful that upholds the Constitution and tries to preserve America.

As economic theory goes, We The Idiots can't see all this rampant greed. But it doesn't matter because we're placated. Losing decent-paying jobs is a fair trade for paying a few cents less for products made in CAFTA countries (other than the good, old USA).

Hmm, a few cents saved for buying "Made in fill in the CAFTA country" knick-knacks in exchange for slipping further into the abyss of economic enslavement . . . sounds like a pretty fair trade. Congress and our globalist el presidente agree.

RENEW AMERICA

If we don't vote out these anti-America "representatives" in the '06 and '08 elections, they have our number.

Americans really are We The Idiots, as well as We The People/Victims.

If that is so, we'll never renew America. Desperately, we need to elect a patriotic 3rd party.
