I have two credit cards. One, which shall remain nameless, decided several months ago to cut my limit by three thousand dollars, to within $200 of my limit. They also raised the interest rate to 25% and also raised by monthly payment. I let that one go. My ex-girlfriend, who makes $120,000 a year, got the same treatment from the same company. She complained, and they told her, "too bad." Then, recently, of course, banks got the bailout. One of them was the bank issuing my credit card, which also used the bailout money to give the executives boneses. I stopped paying my bill and told them it had already been paid through my tax money, and through everyone else's, and also by their kids, and their grandkids, and they would never see a cent from me again. Apparently I gave them my cell phone number (which I don't remember and I find hard to believe, because I give that number to no one, except maybe six people) but the credit card company has been calling me ten or twelve times a day. I Googled the number and found this has been happening to many people. I never answer the number, so today, apparently out of frustration, I received a message on my phone (same number) that read, "You are a fucking slut and you fuck." Now most definitely they will never get a cent, never, ever, never.

Are you sure it wasn't Obama being pissed at you, because you caught on to his bailout heist?
Now that is a strategy that I like. If everyone did this, we could put all of those bastiches out of bizness in a month. :)

I stopped paying my bill and told them it had already been paid through my tax money, and through everyone else's, and also by their kids, and their grandkids, and they would never see a cent from me again.

good sites out there on how to fuck with these morons. first, fax them notification that it will be considered harassment and they may only contact you in writing, there is some fair credit reporting act cite you can use on it. then, when they do, dispute the debt. say you will not confirm or deny, but need to verify....then you ask em for three forms which they usually don't have, the original application and a couple others. after that, they're screwed. they can't prove a contract exists without the signed document. you should save that message and also report them to your atty general and the ftc. seriously, i know people first hand who have beaten the piss out of these companies. only correspond in writing, cuz they record conversations and if you slip up they will get you on tape saying you owe the debt. never ever admit anything, ask for original records to verify, and only in writing. also, move all of your assets into trusts....don't fuck around with that. on paper, you don't want to own shit....its all in corporations wrapped in trusts....nevada corps so no one can tell who owns any of it. you have nothing in the way of estate planning/asset protection if you aren't in trusts....don't even have a bank account with your name on it....put that in a trust. now, see if anyone who wants to sue you can show that you own any assets to go after? you don't own shit, so they leave you alone and go on to the next guy. you can set up your own trusts with docs on legal zoom. you shouldn't have to pay a lawyer to do it if you are willing to learn a little and read. not only that, but a single unfortunate accident can wipe out your estate if you don't have those asssets protected....say you hit someone in a car by mistake....they get a judgement for several million dollars, which is not unlikely in a serious accident requiring long term care, and your insurance only indemnifies you for say 100k......you are in serious jeopardy. you can lose it all. stick everything in a trust. everything.

Every time you sign your name when using your credit card you have a new contract. But since they never had the money to loan you to start with then you could dispute it in court. You can't owe something to somebody if they never gave you anything.

I paid my credit card bill faithfully for years, but after this bailout crap all the big banks can go under. I just opened up an account at a solid local bank which told me they avoided all these toxic mortgage stuff, took no bailouts, and are doing just fine. Where I live there is plenty of credit available. I will never patronize a large bank again. Andrew Jackson was right, and too bad dueling is illegal, because I'm a natural shot and I'd be tempted to call these guys out.

There's some interesting information on this "debt consolidation thread" that I found, aside from the following: ... When it comes to debt collections the words, assigned, asignee, asign can sometimes be confusing ,misleading or have multiple meanings. Sometimes the debt is actually just assigned, not sold to the collector for recovery.This is more common in medical collections.In this case then you have no contractural right to pay the collector if you can still pay the dr./facility directly if possible. In other cases such as debt buyers the word asssigned can also mean that they actually purchased the debt but that is where dv comes into play . If your not sure if they actually own the debt or just hired to collect it then get it validated. assign 1) v. to transfer to another person any asset such as real property or a valuable right such as a contract or promissory note. 2) n. the person (assignee) who receives a piece of property by purchase, gift or by will. It often shows up in contracts and wills. Thats why its always important to ask for at least the 3 things that DebtCruncher posted when asking for validation. To see what was in your original contract ,and if they actually own it or are just collecting on it. If the debt has been sold, any assignees down the road should be able to provide three things: 1) the original contract/agreement, 2) a complete payment history / detail of charges, and 3) an assignment notice from the original creditor stating that the debt has been assigned to the new assignee. Without these three items, they cannot prove you owe them anything.

i have a friend who would ask these guys for a fax number, to fax them some document or whatever....some item to do with the dispute. when he would get it, he would put a black page into the fax machine, dial their fax number and set the thing for like 1000 times or whatever. it would tie up their fax machine for the day, burn up all the toner ink, etc. they would then call him and ask him to stop, he would be like, 'why should i? you assholes keep calling me, here's what you get. he also liked to tell them the conversation was being recorded....they were like, 'hey, you can't do that'.....he would say, 'oh yeah? in the beginning of the call you state this conversation MAY be recorded for quality control, so thats what i am doing'.....geebus that guy would royally screw with them. he would also bill doctors for making him wait beyond his appointment time, etc. lol.

You could sue them for that oh yeah he could definitely sue them for that and win very easily; except the only drawback i see is that they might use that opportunity, if they are forced to appear in court (which they would otherwise stringently avoid), to countersue him for what they allege is his debt. That is something to consider. I have sued many companies and filed suits against others and gotten my desired results after which they asked me to drop the suit which i did. I onced sued warren buffet's company geico for the max. in small court which at the time in CA was 5000 (now it's 7500) and the judge awarded me in less than 5 minutes. ha ha. they had been trying to haggle on a claim , their insured was a drunk who crashed into me, and they were not paying what i asked for, which had been substancially less than 5000. they are very stupid. most of these people are, which is why with a little research you can NAIL almost anyone. BAM.
