I was speaking to my last (out of many) ex-girlfriend, who told me she had made a deal with one credit card company, to which she owned $5000, to settle for $2500. She sent in the money, and found later she got a statement listing the money as a payment, and the company wanted the other $2500.

She told me she's going to use the card (which was supposed to be turned off) to spend the rest of the money you to the limit, and not pay them another cent.

Turtle has been having fantasies about calling these banksters out for a duel with pistols at 20 paces.

I have a fantasy that Turtle's ex-girlfriend pays off her own credit card bills instead of passing them on to other credit card holders.

I have a fantasy that folks will learn to just pay cash, throttling these corrupt criminal enterprises, except for renting cars and plane tickets where the, evidently, must be used.

I'm increasingly in cash. I won't patronize businesses that use that check service that verifies your check and then they void the check and hand it back to you.

We need more people to do this so we won't end up with an electronic prison of personal finance. This will only increase gooberment power over us, not to mention that part where no one will be able to buy or sell without the mark of some Beast(ly gooberment).

Seems to me its almost exactly like writing a check, or more accurately using a debit card.
