Three years after Prince’s death, his estate has still not been settled.

His heirs, lawyers, and consultants are still squabbling over his $200 million estate— which includes a Caribbean villa and masters of his recordings. According to the New York Post, they’ve already allegedly plowed through $45 million of it, citing administrative fees.

Prince left no will and had no known children. A judge chose his six siblings— Tyka Nelson, Norrine Nelson, Sharon Nelson, John Nelson, Alfred Jackson and Omarr Baker, to be his heirs.

Mark Eghrari, an estate planning attorney who has written about the issue in Forbes, says it’s possible for the singer’s estate to remain up in the air for ten years.

“As it is, I’ve no doubt that lawyers, accountants and administrators will be the primary beneficiaries of Prince’s estate,” Eghrari told the paper.

Prince Rogers Nelson died on Apr. 21, 2016 at the age of 57 of an accidental opioid overdose at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota.

On social media, fans paid tribute to the groundbreaking artist.

“My best friend called to tell me you were gone, but I was already crying. Your songs are my life's anthems. Here's my ticket from 1984. $17.50, but that night was priceless, #RIPPrince,” wrote one user.

“Today make 3 yrs that Prince died. We'll never witness another artist like Prince. He covered every level of artistry there is. Prince was a singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, actor & filmmaker. He had a 4 decade long career. He was truly something special. #RIPPrince,” said another.
