© Rob Kim “Silver Spoons” actor Rick Schroder won’t face charges for allegedly striking his girlfriend in the face before his arrest three weeks ago, prosecutors said.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney said in paperwork released Wednesday that the girlfriend turned “very uncooperative" shortly after calling 911, refused to allow photos of her face and later claimed Schroder hit her unintentionally,

Prosecutors said it was only one time – during her initial conversation with the 911 operator – that the victim stated her boyfriend “punched her in the face.” “(The victim) was not emotional during the 911 call, and it was (her) only statement in this investigation that implied (Schroder) purposely punched her.”

Once police arrived at the scene, the girlfriend asked an investigator to stop taking video of her, prosecutors said.

The 30-second clip handed over as part of the investigation “does not show any real injury because the camera is moving quickly at different angles," the DA’s office said.

During a follow-up interview a day later, the girlfriend claimed the whole thing was a big misunderstanding, prosecutors said.

She "relayed that she’d startled the suspect, who was sleeping in bed and under the influence of alcohol and Ambien,” and that Schroder “flailed his arms and accidentally” hit her, the charge declination sheet reads.

All I can say is, "Newt? What the hell really happened?

When I lived in Chicago I was visiting with some friends across the alley. I don't recall the exact circumstances, but the guy just up and clocked his old lady and knocker her down. She must have said something off center.

She looked at me and asked for help. I told her I did not want to get in the middle of a domestic dispute.

Anyway, that guy is dead many years ago. He got drunk in Wisconsin, went off the road, hit a tree and killed himself.

I figure his 2 kids have grown up to be delinquents. That was a very long time ago. ;)
