After every mass shooting, politicians on the left clamber for increased gun control measures. They tell Republicans to “do the right thing” and “get something done.”
Lost in the noise, however, is what exactly should be done. And even more important, why.
For many politicians, Democrats and Republicans alike, gun control proposals are nothing more than cheap attempts to politicize tragedy. The most recent statistics from the FBI explain why.

David Hogg is well coached in repeating the standard anti-gun diatribe, "If only it saves one life."
That is what Tem Williams was saying at City Hall in Arlington Heights, Illinois when they had the town hall meeting there to discuss the handgun ban.
We beat them by 67% to 32%. A member of the City Council said, "This is a mandate."
Then a couple of guys on the Committee got drunk and put a FOR SALE sign in front of Tem Williams' house. It served her right.
BTW, I was working a precinct there and wearing my cowboy hat. I went to a house with a Saab parked in the driveway. I rang the bell and a man came to the door. I showed him the lit and gave him the spiel.
Then he said, "Do you live around here?" I said, "Have you ever heard of Pinedale, Wyoming?" He said, "No". I said, "I didn't think so."
Next thing you know there is a story in the local paper the pro-gunners were bringing people in from the outside. They never bothered to call our headquarters to check. That is known as Yellow Journalism. :-/
