When I lived in Chicago in early 80s, we heard Reagan was going to visit Gordon Tech High School on NW side.
They flew the Presidential helicopters into Lane Tech Football Stadium and he drove over to Gordon in the limo.
The cops would not allow anyone on California Ave where he was coming in. But we found a house with a wide yard and you could look thru the chain link fence and see him when he got out of the limo. ;)
