164.9 degrees F below zero in the Philippines. Granted that was on top of a typhoon at high altitude but it was a record. We also have had record snow falls. If there is a volcano all that snow melts, mixes with dirt and makes a tidal wave of mud that can kill 100,000 or so local residents.
