Japanese scientists have said that cosmic rays (nuclear particles from distant stars) energize volcanoes and earthquakes. The reduction in the magnetism of the Sun and the earth allows more cosmic rays to strike the earth. Time to move away from the US West Coast and the New Madrid fault zone.
