Donald Trump’s promise to secure the border and defend America was central to his 2016 election victory.

At every turn Democrats tried to thwart the President from fulfilling the promise.

But now the military just scored one win that had Donald Trump grinning from ear to ear.

Donald Trump’s pledge to build a border wall was his number one campaign promise.

After Democrats blocked funding in Congress the President exercised his authority under the 1976 National Emergency Act to declare a state of emergency on the southern border and unlock access to military construction funds.

On Thursday the Pentagon announced it secured $3.8 billion in funding to build 177 miles of border wall.

“Last month we received a new request from the Department of Homeland Security asking for assistance in blocking drug-smuggling corridors on federal land along the southern border of the United States,” a Defense Department statement read.

“In response, the Secretary of Defense authorized support of $3.8 billion to build approximately 177 miles of fencing that will help to protect our borders. We will continue to support DHS and other agencies as needed to keep our homeland is secure,” the statement added.

President Trump told the American people his administration planned to build 400 to 450 miles of border wall by 2020.

Despite the Democrats shutting down the government in late 2018 because they refused to provide any votes for wall funding, President Trump is determined to keep his promise to the American people.

A border wall is not the be-all, end-all of border security.

But is a foundational pillar of the government’s obligation to put a stop to the illegal alien invasion and finally provide real border security.

The Democrats hate the wall for two reasons.

First, they want to flood the country with as many illegal aliens as possible so that way if they ever pass an amnesty bill it will create the maximum number of new Democrat voters.

Second, they know if President Trump campaigns this fall on having completed the wall it will only boost his re-election chances.
