Gov. Ralph Northam of Virginia, a Democrat, signed a law on Good Friday prohibiting “all places or businesses offering or holding out to the general public goods, services, privileges, facilities, advantages, or accommodations” from denying access to those things to people 18 years and older based on what the law calls “gender identity.”

The law goes on to define “gender identity” as follows: “The term ‘gender identity,’ when used in reference to discrimination in the Code and acts of the General Assembly, means the gender-related identity, appearance, or other gender-related characteristics of an individual with or without regard to the individual’s designated sex at birth.”

In effect, the new law that Northam signed prohibits businesses and other private organizations from denying the use of their ladies’ rooms—or locker rooms, or dressing rooms--to adult biological males.

When in High School in Chicago, the building was settling and there was a crack in the wall between boys and girls locker rooms.

A few of the guys were looking thru the crack to see what they could see. The girls got wise to it and stuffed a towel in the crack. LOL

Nobody who does not believe in the right of freedom of association -- and non-association -- should complain about this.

Anybody who believes that government should be able to compel a restaurant to serve blacks or whites or perverts can't complain about this. Same for motels and such. Same for whom you want to sell your house to. Or how much you can pay an employee. Etc.

Not 1 in 100 people will admit to believing in the right of freedom of association today. They either don't believe in it, or they're afraid to admit that they do. Nowadays that belief will likely cost you your job. It will almost certainly get you thrown out of church.

1964 and 1965 were not good years for liberty.
