Dr. Anthony Fauci is one of the most controversial members of the President’s coronavirus taskforce.

The President shutdown the economy on Dr. Fauci’s recommendation.

And now Dr. Fauci went on CNN and made one confession that could get him fired.

Over the weekend The New York Times published a fake news story about Donald Trump supposedly “acting slowly” in responding to the coronavirus outbreak.

CNN State of the Union host Jake Tapper asked Dr. Fauci about this story and if the administration could have saved lives by locking down the economy in late-February or early March.

“As I’ve said many times, we look at it from a pure health standpoint. We make a recommendation. Often the recommendation is taken. Sometimes it’s not. But it is what it is. We are where we are right now,” Dr. Fauci said trying to brush off the questions.

But Tapper pressed further and Dr. Fauci bit and fed the liberal narrative by saying the President could have prevented death by acting quicker.

“You know, Jake, again, it’s the what would have, what could have. It’s very difficult to go back and say that. I mean, obviously, you could logically say that if you had a process that was ongoing and you started mitigation earlier, you could have saved lives. Obviously, no one is going to deny that. But what goes into those kinds of decisions is complicated. But you’re right, I mean, obviously, if we had right from the very beginning shut everything down, it may have been a little bit different. But there was a lot of pushback about shutting things down back then.”

On March 1, the U.S. had just two coronavirus deaths and one confirmed case in New York state.

Had Donald Trump locked down the country, thrown 20 million Americans out of work and flushed trillions of dollars down the toilet on this set of facts, the President’s critics would have accused him of manufacturing a crisis and tanking the economy on a panic not justified by the data.

Dr. Fauci knows this.

But he still fed red meat to the anti-Trump media with his absurd criticism of the President.

Dr. Fauci committed a massive betrayal in the middle of a pandemic.
