I graduated HS in '65, so in most ways the '60s were my years for many lifetime memories to be made, including the '50 Merc that witnessed many of them.

We had a '40 Ford for a while when I was a kid. The back seat floorboard was so rusted out that my brother and I could sharpen sticks on the road.
It died one day when my mother was out shopping, so she sold it -- on the spot -- to a hippie.
That evening Dad asked, "Where's the car?" That was a memorable conversation.
