Damn, Jim. This just popped into my head, and I thought about you.

I remembered you calling me on Thanksgiving, a couple, maybe three years ago. I think that I was at some podunk diner bringing a truck driver home after dropping his semi off at a repair shop in Ft. Recovery, Ohio.

I was surprised, nobody ever calls me on holidays. It meant a lot to me hearing from a friend.

My passenger got his wife a couple of overly expensive pies from the little diner in the middle of nowhere. I got him home safely and went home.

I've been so many places, it might've been a couple of other guys. Who knows?

Whatever, my mind is a funny, if not tragic place.

We were working a black concert on north side at Rosemont. The show was in the round. They had us all strung out to hold back the crowd.

It was Sinbad as the headliner. A black woman was the opening act but I do not recall her name.

When she came off stage, she had a gold chain she handed to one of the Roadies. He put it on a table near the stage stairs.

A black girl slipped in there and grabbed the chain. Someone saw her and they searched her and couldn't find it. So they called for Verna the black girl on the crew.

As soon as the black girl saw Verna the chain magically appeared.

She had it in a secret place. ROTFLMAO!

I am sooo sorry. It happens so fast. People just don't realize... My "baby" who was in the van when we had our accident many years, was t-boned again 4 years ago. Pelvis broken in 4 places, brain bleed, broken ribs, collapsed lung. It was grueling but she survived, still with pain. But she was young. I truly hope and pray God will be gracious with your sister.
