As CRACKDOWNS continue. Big little difference there -- I know you were just properly repeating the headline.

There IS NO PANDEMIC, prolly not even an epidemic! Ppl keep exaggerating everything -- everything has to be more than what it actually is. Every college is now a 'university', and the one in my town is barely a preschool in IQ level.

Mocking this, forty years ago somebody called garbage collectors "sanitation engineers".

Oh, YES. Pompous (((Edwin Newman))) did a special on it -- a packing crate that calls the bed inside a 'sleep system' etc. I think 'system' has carried off the saturation prize :-6

Just went looking for a def of 'storm system' specifically, and it's a joke. 1st Google result is just for storm, second is for storm system but just repeat's #1's def. #3 just gives examples in sentences, 4 and 5 repeat or refraze #1! HA!

Idiot Harry Reasoner did a much-heralded documentary on language abuse but it was a total half-witted dud. OMG, his middle name was Truman -- there could ezily be a connection there. His wikid photo no doubt signifies the evil Masonic theme of 'as above, so below' -- gotta send it to Texe:

Helicopter Pilots Are Different

"The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by its very nature wants to fly and, if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces and controls working in opposition to each other and, if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance, the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously. There is no such thing as a gliding helicopter."

"This is why being a helicopter pilot is so different from being an airplane pilot, and why in generality, airplane pilots are open, clear-eyed, buoyant extroverts, and helicopter pilots are brooding introspective anticipators of trouble. They know if something bad has not happened it is about to."

Think there's anything to it?

Some extremely jaundiced, vulgar but possibly truthful animated accounts of airline piloting here -- is it true it's all done by computer now except the landing part?
