I was born there. I left. I do not feel like sending them money to subsidize stupidity.

All you need to look at is the current situation in New York.

They are taxiing the ultra wealthy and those people have decided to move to Florida. ;)

They're not all going to Florida, alas. A lot of them -- far too many -- are stopping and staying here in South Carolina.

I now live in Tennessee. No state income tax. A couple of years ago there were 24 competing bills in the state legislature that were written to increase the rights of gun owners.

I am the only native born Californian I have met though some lived there and came back.

Anyone interested in moving here. I can give you a guide. Avoid Memphis.Too near the New Madrid fault line. Avoid area near rivers as I expect more rain than usual for the next several decades.

I now live in Tennessee.

When I was a kid in kindergarten and living in suburban Skokie, my Dad was a Lithographer at the Rand McNally plant across the street.

Rands decided to move the plant to Kentucky, but my Mom did not want to move to Kentucky . So we sold the house and moved into a flat on NW side.

It was steam heat and the boiler needed to be stoked in the morning. I can recall standing in front of the oven in the morning in winter to warm up. ;)

Interesting. Usually when somebody tells you he's from Tennessee he'll specify West, Middle, or East Tennessee. I visit Knoxville a few times a year. Are you in East Tennessee?

No. I am not in Memphis but I am too close to the New Madrid fault line. All brick and stones buildings in this area would collapse during an earthquake. My goal is to move South of Nashville closer to Huntsville Alabama. Too many rivers north of Nashville. I remember a few years ago being asked to donate to rebuild a church from my denomination in Nashville after a flood. Knoxville is OK. Our previous governor was a former mayor of Knoxville.

My goal is to live in a rural area far from any cities in case a Civil War breaks out in 2021 or 2022.
