Good morning, Im still reporting on: U S Senate Repeal the Johnson Amendment, 2497
Synopsis:
I know its hard to keep up with the news during these last days of December and especially today Christmas Day.
But this just came to my attention this morning, and its on a pretty short fuse so please pay attention. In 1954, then Senate Majority Leader Lyndon Johnson inserted legislation into the IRS Code language that has been used by the IRS to conduct invasive audits of Christian ministries and withhold tax exempt status for nonprofits for political reasons. Its been a thorn in the side of every church in America since then.
After 64 years, Christendom finally got the political muscle to get the House of Representatives to pass a new bill to repeal this law before they adjourned for Christmas break. Its called HR 88 the repeal of the Johnson Amendment.
But the Senate hasnt yet taken it up.
Poster Comment:
It is important to revisit this and to get it put back on the burner again. Repeal of the Johnson Amendment will remove the persecution of Christians in this Christian nation.
