Wouldn't some of these pigs they are killing off have a natural immunity to this swine fever? They should ship these hogs off to some isolated island or what not and let the fever run though the herds. Those that survive are probably immune. Release them back into the wild populations or whatever.

I know "herd immunity" is maybe ethically questionable with people, but with pigs, domesticated or not, it shouldn't be hard, and offers a way to actually eradicate the disease.
