As a preacher, a teacher, and a political candidate, I've done a good bit of public speaking. But I've never even once considered calling my audience "stupid bastards".

What is wrong with that idiot?

Think the media will spin it as an "homage" to General Patton?

Biden simply used the word "stupid" instead of "magnificent."

A common mistake.

But the real problem is also all thru that short, ugly video -- they go ahead and clap when he tells them to. I hardly think their CO told them in advance 'you men are to clap for this horrible satanic bastard no matter what abuse he gives you'.

As a preacher, a teacher, and a political candidate,

Were any of the three venues with an audience FORCED to be in attendance under duress?

As a preacher: yes, because some parents probably forced their children to go to church. As a teacher: only indirectly, because some of my students were required by their employer to attend my classes. As a political candidate: no, unless a few kids were dragged to the event by their parents.

In the case of the military personnel, I don't suppose many of them were forced to enlist? But I understand that once enlisted or commissioned, they have to follow orders.
