Mayor Lori Lightfoots Chicago is Turning into a Crime-Ridden Hellscape

Northwards of 3,100 people were shot in Chicago so far in the year of 2020.
According to a Chicago Tribune report, the total number of shootings victims came out to 3,132 thus far. AWR Hawkins of Breitbart News noted that these numbers included the fatally wounded as well as those who survived.
In the Tribune report, the number of homicides that took place from January 1, 2020, up until September 28, 2020, reached 576. On the other hand, CNN reported fewer than 500 homicides for the entire year of 2019.
Whats taking place in Chicago is part of a larger trend sweeping across the country. Democrat-controlled cities have become cesspools of corruption and public disorder. As a result of gun control policies and lax criminal justice policies, these cities have descended into total disarray and lawful individuals have little means of defending themselves.
Hawkins highlighted some of the cities witnessing this uptick in violence:
Homicides in Dem0crat-controlled St. Louis are surging too. In fact, on September 21, 2020, Breitbart News reported murders in Mayor Lyda Krewsons (D) St. Louis are on pace to reach a level not seen in 50 years.
Even New York City, which was known for its aggressive anti-crime policies in the 1990s, has also fallen to this criminal wave. Hawkins brought some perspective to skyrocketing crime in the Big Apple:
Moreover, Breitbart News reported that Mayor Bill de Blasios (D) New York City surpassed 1,000 shootings for the year before August 2020 was over. The New York Post reported NYPD data indicating there were 1,004 shootings in NYC as of August 30, 2020. There were 537 shootings by that same time in 2019.
Democrat officials have no one to blame but themselves for their cities dilapidated conditions. Republicans should hammer home the stark differences between GOP-controlled and Democrat-controlled jurisdictions.
For example, in red states and cities, Americans can enjoy more gun rights, better business conditions, and stronger public security institutions. Republicans should not shy away from making these comparisons during the 2020 election cycle.

When Harold Washington was elected the first black Mayor of Chicago, Vito Marzullo got up in the City Council and said, "We don't need no Washington."
In other words, things would work the same way they always had, with or without Washington. ;)
