This goes back to Ezra Pound and his broadcasts on Italian radio during WW II.
He railed against the Federal Reserve and the money power. After the war he was locked up in St. Elizabeth's Mental Hospital.
He was freed from there only after the intervention of other poets and the courts ruled he should be released. ;)
