Coober Pedy is the best place to get Opal. Matter of fact, that is my birthstone.

When I lived in Chicago, I knew a guy named Lyle Backus. He made several trips to Coober Pedy and brought back some great specimens of Opal, both finished cabs and in the rough.

It has been many years now since I have seen that old boy. He might be dead along with many of the other old timers. :-/

A woman who had 600 followers bought a mountain near Yellowstone. She hired miners to carve out living and work space for her followers. Turned out to be cheaper than buying homes on the surface.
