No state should allow anyone moving from California from being a voting citizen for at least 10 years because even if they move to escape what California has become, they retain their California voting habits.

I'm not so sure about that. Seems the Silicon Valley tycoons spared no expense on this last (s)election. What would stop them from just paying the tax for the wrong voters?

A tax like that would surely stop me from voting.

(Edit) Maybe having to show a property tax receipt might suffice, but they won't even check IDs now. Seems unworkable.

Property and poll tax are the same thing down here. Another test would be showing proof that the potential voter was a net maker, not a taker.

Allowing creatures to vote themselves more and more "benefits" will be our destruction, if it isn't already.

Yes, but the poll tax needs to be adjusted for how much the dollar has been devalued; that is about $100.
