I read this article and watched the guy basically reading the same article and have to say that I am not and have never really been much of a joiner.

I am one of the unrepresented and ungoverned at this point in my life. I am happy to be the outsider and the one who will enjoy watching the rest scrabble and fight over imaginary wrongs while staying aloof and indifferent until they bring their bullshit to my door step.

I am content to remain unaligned and a spectator to this idiocy.

Probably for worse and likely much worse. Up until near the 1850s, people knew most everyone in their community and seldom ventured more than 100 miles from where they were born. Communication was very slow (taking weeks) so if an uprising was being planned the people could plan and march toward and arrive near the king or their ruling masters before the rulers were aware and could take counter measures. Furthermore, the weapons available to the people were not much inferior to the weapons available to the military.

Now, with instant communication and people not knowing their neighbors any plans would be known very early and the weapons available to the people are vastly inferior to the weapons available to the military and the police.

Very true provide conditions resulted in them in large enough numbers. However, without communicating with others, which would be quickly discovered, I don't know what conditions would result in sufficient numbers of people spontaneously deciding on their own to be silent lone wolves. After all, there would be no glory. Therefore, no way to receive encouragement and praise.
