A major problem right now with retail bitcoin transactions is cost. Just to transfer bitcoin from one wallet to another cost about $20-$25 worth of bitcoin, so it's really no good for buying a donut & coffee.

Bitcoin Cash spun off from bitcoin recognizing this issue some 3 years ago, and today the Cash version is much cheaper. What's powering Bitcoin prices right now isn't Bitcoin's quality, but rather it's reputation.
