And one Marine that DID make it home, but decided to end his life when his ex turned his kids against him and Bidet took his job away. Near as I can tell, I was the last person he talked to. He seemed OK, the cops questioned me because I was the last contact on his phone. I feel pretty bad about that, but most Marines I've known don't tend toward being crybabies.

I too was the last call a vet made. I wish I was smarter about reading into what he was saying to me. I doubt it would have made a difference in the end though.

I used to be pretty good about reading people. I lost a lot of that when my brain and body was mashed up about 8 years or so ago. There was no clue or "tell." He knew that I'd have covered anything he needed. I know what you're saying.

I doubt it would have made a difference in the end though.

I'm not trying to be an asshole, but what you don't know, you don't know. It was a couple days before what he did after talking to me. If I thought there was a problem, he could've stayed with me.
