Squad Members Are Failing The Afghani Women & Children, Calls It A Humanitarian Crisis & Barely Mentions Biden

Sen. Tommy Tuberville has joined many others in criticizing members of “The Squad” for not speaking out about the difficulties that Afghani women are facing today. Squad members include Reps. Alexandria Ocasio- Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, and Rashida Tlaib. With Taliban control in Afghanistan, women are in real danger and the loudest voices in Congress now have nothing to say.

But squad members have continued to talk their way out of the Biden Administration being held accountable, saying that all refugees should be welcomed to the U.S Squad member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez even insists it is a “moral obligation to tackle this “humanitarian crisis” and that we must waste no time or expense in welcoming people to the U.S and providing support as they rebuild their lives. It’s clear that the Squad is very selective in their outrage. If they become more concerned about the Afghan women soon, it will be politically driven. For now, they stay silent as ever.

Sen. Tuberville described the squad as being “closed-mouthed” right now, which doesn’t fill the narrative or help anyone in particular. If this were a discussion on former president Donald Trump’s handling of Afghanistan, then the Squad would be all over it as a media storm. Because it was President Joe Biden’s sloppy handling of the troops’ withdrawal, they’ll let this one slide as a “humanitarian crisis.”

Sen. Tuberville went on to say that he is a Washington D.C “outsider” and that politicians talk their way out of everything because they don’t want to be held accountable. He called the coverups “ridiculous” and said billions of tax dollars were lost in the process. He insisted on an investigation to hold someone accountable and said they will try to get the job done.

“You know who is really in danger right now is women. Women in Afghanistan for the first time ever have been able to go to school, do things that, you know, a normal human being gets to do. In Afghanistan, women don’t get that opportunity, but they have been given that opportunity with our being in that country and starting schools, and all of that. Now that has all gone south,” Tuberville said.

Rep. Ilhan Omar also mirrored AOC’s comments in calling it a “humanitarian crisis” and insisting on helping evacuate every Afghan citizen who is fleeing for their lives. She released a statement addressing the crisis and saying that there will be “plenty of time” for confronting the fundamental failures of our Afghanistan policy over the course of many decades and four presidencies.

“I hope we genuinely confront them, and reckon with them, rather than doubling down on obsolete talking points from 20 years ago that fail to account for the thousands of American lives cost and trillion-plus dollars spent. I hope we will learn from this, as painful as it is,” Omar wrote.

Critics shot back that evacuating every single Afghan citizen is “dangerous” and that there are millions trying to escape. Most of the users said that Omar’s knowledge of the situation was very limited, as the U.S does not have the capacity to take millions of refugees from Afghanistan. Others asked why her and fellow squad colleagues voting against accepting Afghan refugees back in July.

“This is not time for populist rhetoric but time for real practical solutions,” another user wrote.

Rep. Cori Bush reiterated the same statement that refugees must be welcome here, whether it’s Afghanistan, Haiti, Lebanon, or communities facing extreme hardships worldwide. She was also called “ignorant” for thinking we can help both our own people and all refugees at the same time.

The Squad will never support protecting the Afghani women and girls today. They are much too busy demonizing and demoralizing normal Americans (and trying to turn this into a humanitarian crisis) instead of Biden’s poor planning. Not to mention an overwhelming border crisis. They’ve always been well with their words, but there’s no action to stand with it.
