High-profile Democrats are rushing to help Gov. Newsom avoid being recalled
September 6, 2021
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) faces the very real possibility of being ousted from the governors mansion as a state recall election approaches.
While Newsom has done his best, so far, in shaking off negative polling numbers and widespread media attention over his possible recall, its clear that the Democratic Party is scared to death of losing him, as several of the nations most powerful and influential Democrats will soon rush to the state in an effort to save him, according to The Hill.
Whos going?
So far, the highest-level Democrat who has committed to helping the embattled governor campaign to save his job is none other than Vice President Kamala Harris, who will be traveling to California on Sept. 8 in a bid to help him out.
Given Harris extreme unpopularity as a whole, its interesting that she believes shell have any kind of positive impact on keeping him in office, but given that California is her home state, she probably had no say in the matter, meaning her appearance is largely obligatory.
