Speaking of bus drivers, when we had the crash on I-80 in Pennsylvania in construction zone on the trip home from working security at Woodstock 94, the bus driver was pinned in the wreck for an hour.

When they got him out he gave us "thumbs up" and we all cheered. We found out later he lost both legs at the knee. :-/

It was volunteer fire department that came out. If that was three bus loads of senior citizens coming from the casinos in Atlantic City it would have been total disaster.

Many of my friends were evacuated by helicopter or ambulance. One guy, Ivan, when the excitement was over he sat down next to a guard rail and went into shock. I hollered, "WE GOT A MAN DOWN OVER HERE!"

A medic came over and put an IV in his arm. I was on other side of guard rail. I stuck my hand in the air and he put the IV bag in it.

Ivan got the good looking nurse in the ambulance. LOL

I think they blamed the construction crew for the wreck since something made the first truck brake hard. But out of the three buses and two trucks involved, everyone was following too closely and travelling too fast. :-/

They cut off the back end of one of the buses since they thought someone was trapped inside the rest room. I guess nobody did a head count.

One of the fuel tanks on one of the trucks ruptured and diesel was spilled into the river since the wreck happened on the bridge over Shenango River. They seemed to be more concerned about the diesel spill in the river than most anything else. ;)
