The head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow, has argued that the countrys independence from negative outside influence is what makes it truly free.
In an interview broadcast on the Rossiya-1 TV channel on Saturday, the church leader was asked to comment on instances of Orthodox Christians having emigrated from the US to Russia.
Russian Orthodox Church wants no criminal prosecution for insulting religion, on one condition Russian Orthodox Church wants no criminal prosecution for insulting religion, on one condition
I can imagine the types of reaction to my words from different corners, but I can prove that Russia today is the true leader of the free world, Kirill said.
Were free from the most powerful influences from abroad. Were developing in accordance with our own path and, by Gods will, our path shall be successful. Russia can serve as an example for others.
We have many problems, but these problems are solvable, Kirill said.
Speaking about the state of Russian society, the patriarch said, We currently dont have a hot-button issue that would make societal interests collide and produce deep, irreconcilable contradictions.
He added that the country benefited from a healthy diversity of opinion that doesnt destroy the foundations of human and spiritual life.

I once saw a video of Putin showing how he would take out the U.S. Southern Command in Pensacola, Florida along with Navy bases in Norfolk, Virginia and also in Jacksonville, Florida.
Unfortunately, I cannot locate it now. :-/

Many years back (early 90s) when living in NW suburban Chicago, I was in Country Music Inn.
There were three guys there who were from South Africa. They said they did not understand how the U.S. came to be from coast to coast.
We were using my body as a map. Left was east coast and right was west coast. In the middle was Mid-West.
One of them pointed below my belt and said, "What's down there?"
I said, "That's Mexico. We don't go there." ROTFLOL

This was supposedly going to be done using MIRV missiles, of which the Soviets (Russians) did not possess that technology. It was supposedly given to them by Henry Kissinger. ;)

I'm sure. But you know that our planes were forbidden to attack MIG bases in North Vietnam. This makes no sense since in war there are no limits on targets. It was all political in nature. ;)

Oops, they didn't learn a damned thing from Vietnam either! I'm starting to wonder about their vaunted greatness. If they're that stupid, what are they doing running the universe? :-s

He also flew Chiang Kai-shek to Tehran for the big four conference when it was determined how the world would be split up after the Axis was defeated.
This of course led to the Iron Curtain and the division of Berlin.
Patton's tanks were east of the Elbe River and had to withdraw because of the Tehran Accords.
During Reagan's administration when it was arranged to have the Berlin Wall come down, they found there had been no repairs to the infrastructure in East Berlin. No wonder people wanted out of there. ;)
