Velocity is the key. It will kick in when people figure out that they are better off spending this month than waiting to buy next month.

Hyperinflation starts when foreigners see the value of the trillions of dollars they hold in currency, US stocks and bonds is declining. They will dump everything and go into commodities thus quadrupling prices over night.
