Peruvian Vladimir Florez was guarding the US consulate in Afghanistan when a suicide bomber blew up a truck outside the gates, killing eight Afghans and sparking a firefight that lasted hours.

Like many Latin-American former soldiers, Florez feels bitter at the conditions he endured then and his treatment since.

Others say they were used as "cannon fodder."

It was September 13, 2013 when the then 32-year-old Florez was on duty at the US diplomatic complex in the northwestern city of Herat alongside Colombians and Salvadorans.

I've got to know what kind of education system they have in Latin America if they teach nothing about how el Colóso del Norte has tortured those countries for centuries. Article mentions Salvadorans and Colombians -- their parents never imparted this crucial knowledge, even when the young men signed up to help the Yanks waste the Ayrabs??

Never mind centuries. Was it even 35 years ago that DC was torturing El Salvador in the name of liberation?

I give up on captive and oppressed peoples. Betcha East European youth have never heard of Communism. People literally worldwide urgently need to learn one simple but deadly serious precept: YOU CANNOT TRUST THE US GOVERNMENT. The need is desperate and immediate!
