In this VladTV exclusive, Bobby Luisi detailed his time as a made man in the Philadelphia mafia. Luisi talked about growing up in Boston around made men, bosses, and capos of the Patriarca crime family before becoming involved with the group by the age of 11. While he distanced himself from mafia activities during his 20s, he returned after the stock market crashed during the late-80s. While Luisi was involved in card clubs, bookmaking, and loan sharking, he said his cocaine operation made a few million dollars "right away." He detailed the events that led to his father, brother, and cousin getting killed in a restaurant shooting and explained his decision to leave the Patriarca family to join the Philadelphia mob. The way I got on the group was when I told a story about an old guy I worked with on State Highways. They were knocking over Speak Easy's during Prohibition. Capone put the hit on them, so him and his partner took it on the lamb to Boston. They got back about a month later and Capone's boys grab them and bring them in front of Big Al.
He told me, "We were standing there with our hats in our hands, We're sorry Mr. Capone. We won't ever do it again." And Capone says, "Yeah? Well hit someone else's joints. Now get outta here."
I would say they got off pretty easy. A lot of them got cement overshoes and were taken for a swim in the lake. ;)
