Putin thought this invasion would be a walk in the park. But the Uke's are good fighters. Russia has been forced into a war of attrition and they are leveling the major cities in Ukraine. I just hope they do not use a tactical nuke, not even one kiloton, since that will change the whole equation. ;)

I hadn't heard that. I did see a couple of good film clips of a couple of older Uke's running off four Russian soldiers from their property. And a Russian tank being pummeled and destroyed by a Ukrainian attack. ;)

It's a propaganda war as much as a military war. I suppose all wars are.

We really don't know how well or poorly things are going for Russia. The pentagon gave a 72 hour estimate of Kyiv falling, but it took far longer for US troops to take Bagdad. I could easily believe the 72 hour claim was known to be overly optimistic and made for propaganda purposes by America's own brass, knowing full well it would take many weeks, and it certainly assumed a "shock and awe" offensive which Russia is clearly not employing. US brass did predict a shock and awe offensive. No one, and I mean no one, has yet come forward with any substantive claim on what Putin's expectations were.

The alleged execution killings in this recent city is certainly a boon to Ukrainian PR efforts, regardless of its truthfulness. As I said, it's not just a military war.

Russia is also waging a full blown economic war against the US and the west in general. If they can bring down the dollar, they will. The ruble is still close to it's pre-war exchange rate with the dollar.
