Corn is 60% of the cost of raising a chicken. Nonsense. Sprout chicken feed seeds for 2 days and then feed them. Pasture raised chickens and eggs taste better and command a higher price. Chickens love to eat bugs. Let them out of their cages so they can eat insects. Under the paddock system you pasture beef on a small plot. Then 4 days later you let the chickens onto the plot so they can eat the maggots left behind on the cow pies. No flies. No insects.
