I read once that if one of those things ran 24/7 for 20 years with no maintenance, only then would it have supplied enough energy to produce all the copper wire used in the generator's armature.
Wikid says that "in the scientific literature EROIs wind turbines (sic) is around 16 unbuffered and 4 buffered."
